Did it bleed?!

Tyler's family got to meet Maggie while we were visiting for Christmas and Tyler's 4 year old niece had a few questions about our furbaby.

Niece: Wisa, where is Maggie's tail?

Lisa: Umm (trying to figure out how to explain this) well some dogs don't have tails.

Niece: Why? (Surely, me working with 3 year olds for a living should have known this was not a good enough answer to her question).

Lisa: Sometimes dogs that look like Maggie chase around big animals like cows and if she had a tail she could get hurt.

Niece: Oh, but what is this thing? (points to nub)

Lisa: That is called a nub. She used to have a tail, but when she was a teeny tiny baby they cut it off.

Niece: A nub? Oh..did Maggie cry?

Lisa: Yes, a nub. No, I don't think she cried because she was really little.

Niece: Did it bleed?

Lisa: There might have been a little blood, but not a lot.

Niece: Does Maggie know she looks weird? (ohhhhhhh kids!)

Lisa: Maggie thinks dogs with tails look weird.

Niece: Ohhh well I guess if she did not cry then it is okay.

This converstation still makes me giggle.

Upset tummy

I am glad all the running around for Christmas is now over. We had a wonderful Christmas and Maggie had her first over night stay at her grandparents house (with us) this weekend. She got to play with her step-sisters who are a Pug and a Bulldog. The Bulldog was not really fond of Maggie and we had to keep them seperated at times. The Bulldog is 8 years old and Maggie is only 9 months soooo I can only imagine the Bulldog being a grumpy old person annoyed by the toddler bouncing around.

Maggie snuck a few bites of their food (We feed her natural food like Fromm and they do not) and I had to put up their food and she chewed on one of their bones for awhile and I thought nothing of it...until now. She is so GASSY and it smells sooo bad. She has also had diarrhea after she had her normal dinner. :( Poor pups. Makes me sad.

Her cousins came over for the evening (2 dashhounds mixed with labs) and she played fine with them and she is passed out in our bed right now (I am sure she is beat from all the doggie playing). Her noise is dry and warm and she is still letting awful stinkers out. Is there anything I can do for her?! I hope it was the few bites of dog food and the bone and it is nothing serious!

A corgiful christmas

We couldn't wait. I am sorry. I have no control over my impulses and watching Maggie pace around the gift under the tree the past few days has made me sad. The corgi made me do it!!

The gift.

Blurry from all the excitement!

"What's this stuff"
"Noms! For me!"
"I ripzit like dis"
"Mmmm toyz iz da corgi's"

I don't know who to thank for all the wonderful gifts!! Please tell me who you are so I can thank you! I apologize that we did not wait until Christmas! *points finger at Maggie* Maggie loved every single thing that you got her! She ran off with the blanket after she opened it and then ate her one of the treats! She loves her little sheep Santa and she broke the squeaker in the duck after she went all corgi crazy on it!

Oh...and the talking ball. BEST dog toy EVER. The boyfriend and I have been cracking up all night over her and that thing! It drives her NUTS! She bounces up and down at it and pretends to attack it!! TOO FUNNY!

Once again...thank you SO much!!!!

Being patient with me
Her "Okay mom, that enough" face

After, I let her tear it apart until it was in shreds. :)

*baby it's cOld outside*

It has been rather chilly here in Ohio. Snow has been falling. *BrrrRR* Potty time is not FUN! Seems early this year...though I won't complain too much. Until next week when we have to travel an hour and half away on the 24th to the boyfriends parents house. I heard we are supposed to get a snow storm and I am hoping it is not too bad.

The Christmas tree is finally up. We had Christmas tree troubles. Ours broke and I was a little bummed that we were not going to have a tree up at our first Christmas in our first house. My brother gave me his old tree thankfully and got a new one. Tree problem solved.

We have been in a rut recently now that I think about it...

Monies has become sort of an issue. We have been in our house for about 9 months or so and I think it is catching up on us. We had to watch what we were spending and we have been staying at home a lot more and eating at home as much as we can. We can't buy a lot for people for Christmas and I know that presents are not what it is all about, just sucks that we REAAALLLY have to watch what we spend and we sort of have to pick and choose who to buy for this year. I guess this is growing up...

My car had a crack in the windshield and we went to get it fixed and they told us it could not be fixed...well it COULD but the crack was caused by rust and if they took off the windshield we ran the risk of running in to a bunch of rust and body work needing to be done and it could cost 7k and my car was a really old Geo Prism and was not worth that at all (not to mention that I did not have the money). My mom thankfully decided to give me her car and she bought herself a new one and kept the money that we got out of my old car. I had that car since I was 16 and it was kind of sad to see it go...

A few days after that the boyfriend got into a car accident and we had to send his car off to be fixed. *sigh* He is okay, just sucks.

I came down with an AWFUL stomach bug and it knocked me off my feet for 5 days and I had to go to Urgent Care and my works insurance is not very good. I had to miss work a few days and I did not have much personal time left. The boyfriend got the bug right after me. Naturally.

I haven't seen the boyfriend in what seems like forever even though we live together! Between us getting sick and being bed ridden and us working it has been hard to find time together. He is a manager at Best Buy and the holidays are the worst time of year for him. I am proud of how much he works though and how good and dedicated he is at his job.

Despite all this-Maggie has been a blessing. She is so great to come home to and play with. I am so glad to have her in my life. I am thankful for everything that I DO have in my life. My family, my boyfriend, his family, my Maggie, my friends, my job, and my house.

First snow!

Woke up this morning and Maggie had her first snow on the ground! She was very curious about it and kept wanting to eat it! After she peed and went inside she whinned to go back outside in it!
